Ashirion - the last 10 years

3486

A rash of mysterious deaths swept the land and a bitter darkness followed. These deaths sent a chill into the very bones of the immortal Fae. Not a single human perished from this black smog only those with Fae blood. It proved once and for all that some of the Elves were connected since they too died in droves until that choking death simply vanished. What prevented more deaths is a mystery and one that not a single being solved.

3487

After the smog it was discovered that a renegade human who had been spurned by many of the Fae conspired with a demonic force. This entity known as Revas was able to take the distilled anger from human emotion and turn it into a weapon to use against the immortal ones. A pitched battle between Revas' servants and the demon himself resulted in the destruction of the creature's lair. Rumour has it that the final blow was struck by the Lich King's daughter: Scythe.

3488

The City of Ruatha forms a treaty with the daughter of the Lich King and the undead from the swamp are left in peace. Any adventurer that breaks the treaty is subject to punishment from both sides. In Scythe's case this could mean that they are forced to join the ranks of her followers. If a Ruathan citizen is responsible the Lich Queen has decreed that Queen Nennuir is to deal with them. Some say that is a fate worse than undeath.

3489

A powerful human king (Androsas) declares war upon the shard of Kelbarden after his daughter is killed in the city of Nightfall. His soldiers cross into the shard from the south and begin to attack cities and settlements. A massive reprisal is expected from the Fae Queen Nennuir. She turns the task over to her Warmaster Ronin who leads a mixed force against the soldiers of Androsas. This war would last until 3492

3490

King Androsas enlists the aid of assassins and saboteurs in the battle against the Kebarden shard. Several prominent members of Ruatha City's guilds are nearly killed by these agents. Even the Queen is poisoned but fortunately the agents have underestimated the Queen's endurance and she fights off the poison. Nennuir vanishes for a year and not even the Warmaster will tell his closest confidants where she's gone. It leads the citizens to fear she is dead and the city forces have to stop riots and worse.

3491

Queen Nennuir is nowhere to be found and the Androsas army pushes towards the north, they lay siege to several cities and villages along the way. The Ruathan and Kelbarden forces are hard pressed to stop them. It seems that even the Warmaster's armies are in trouble. A powerful leader aids them in battle and she is a clever foe who is accompanied by a turncoat dragon from an older age. This war leader has no name and she is ruthless in her extermination of her enemies. In a battle known as Ru'an's Folly she defeats and kills the Sh'roud: Meryssis, wiping his army off the face of the map.

3492

As King Androsas' army led by the dragon and her rider approach the City of Ruatha they find the tables have been turned. A great army fronted by the amassed forces of the Shakari accompanied by humans and the other races stand ready to defend the city at all costs. The Mist Reaver, Captain Talon Mane's ship hovers above them all like a vengeful golden eagle and battles the dragon, slaying it. In the process Talon is almost killed and his ship nearly destroyed, only the Reaver's stubborn Captain refuses to give up. The final confrontation sees the death of this female war leader and the Kelbarden army is victorious. As King Androsas prepares to send another assault he is met by another army. One led by Nennuir and Scythe, this army of the living shadows, Iltyr and undead attacks the Capital City of Androsas (Merovane) this brings about the death of the king.

3493

Queen Nennuir returns to Kelbarden and her city as somewhat of a war hero. She reunites with Ronin and they sweep back south to clear the last of the occupied towns, cities and villages one by one. The Wayfarers are abroad at this point and they discover that someone in Nightfall had held the human king's daughter hostage, she was not dead. A contingent of Wayfarers is dispatched to rescue her and Ronin is forced to explain to the young queen that her father was killed in a pointless war. He is fortunate that the newly appointed Queen Jerisas understands and forgives the Kelbardens for what they were forced to do. She promises Ronin that her kingdom will try to be better allies in the future.

3494

A period of relative peace falls over Kelbarden as the city folk rebuild their lives. Relief forces are constantly dispatched to help out those in need and the lands pull together, united for the first time since the war and the invasion of the Shadoen that nearly destroyed them at the Sundering so many moons ago. Ronin and Nennuir are properly wed at long last but the newly appointed King once again refuses the title and prefers to be known as the Warmaster. With a sigh Nennuir agrees and allows this small transgression of Royal Etiquette. Mid-way through this year the Kingdom of Kelbarden declares a festival and whilst there is still much work to be done folk are at long last hopeful again.

3495

The silent malevolence in the darkness that has been slowly watching their plans unfold, releases scores of trained Wolvren onto the festivities at the start of this year. The peace of the Kingdom is shattered and the commando-like raids from these creatures cause a terrible loss of life and see many outlying farms destroyed. This is only a test and the Wolvren agents are withdrawn as the next stage of the plan slumbers until its ready. Wayfarers are at a loss and even Ronin's spies cannot determine where or why these attacks took place. It puts everyone on edge for the rest of the year as they wait for another fanged doom to fall.

3496

Most of the cities have been rebuilt and people have put their lives back in order. Even the dark claw of the Wolvren has been somewhat forgotten. Spring sees newly awoken festivities and the Kingdom starts to grow confident once more. Summer has a record for the warmest days of the year as well as a population expansion that results in a new town known as Merysiss Fall being built on the banks of the Ru'an River: mid-way between Dragon Tooth myre and Ru'an. Autumn brings a fair amount of rain and no troubles so far.
