Kelbarden Locations
The Island of Jhast and Khanda Town
To the Northeast of Ruatha and around 3 days sail is the island of Jhast, it's not exactly one of the largest islands in the Shadowless Seas but it supports a population that resides in the small town of Khanda. A ramshackle fishing village mostly, founded many years ago when the first Warlord of the Kingdom of Kurvas (No longer standing) battled the Fae Queen for sovereignty of the land of Kelbarden. During the war a number of dissatisfied people from Kurvas found the island and decided to settle it, making it an independent location between Warlord and Queen - now it is a shanty town, a place where those of a more disreputable nature might find safe haven for corsairs, pirates and buccaneers of all types - some have said that the one true ruler of the island is none other than a certain swashbuckling elf who sports an eyepatch and has a penchant for big feather-plumed hats.
The Town of Ru'an
Sixty miles to the west of the City of Ruatha and only reachable by a small pass to the west is the town known as R'uan, this small town sits on the shores of the Ru'an river, so named for the priestess who battled the Shadoen here in the aeons days...she gave her life so that the world might be a better place, she was able to beat back the evil at that point and died on the shores of the flowing waters. At length pilgrims came to pay their respects and in a dream one of them was commanded by the Great Wolf to lay the foundations for a town on this spot to honour the woman who gave her life so that they might be free. She would not be the first to sacrifice their life like this, but each one is as important as the next. Now the small fishing town of Ru'an enjoys a good trade by catching the freshwater fish that collect in the waters close to the town. They can also supply wood to the nearby city since they're at the edges of a particularly large forest.
The Hamlet of Onda
Onda is just outside Ruatha, but Onda believes it is outside the laws of Ruatha as well...it lies just outside, probably around three miles to the North East. But they don't treat visitors from the City very well at all. They're a bunch of troublemakers because they believe that the crown owes them bigtime for being civil servants...not very civil and hardly doing their jobs, but they're the kind of people who expect something for nothing really. They want protection, but they don't want to owe anyone anything for it. What do they provide to the city? nothing...they're farmers, fiercely protective, antagonistic and rude - they'll shoo you off their land as soon as look at you, unless you're bringing a big bag of coin from the crown or you have something they want. But as soon as ravaging Wolvren bands start to attack their walls they'll cry to the Queen for help.
The Village of Geist
A moderately large Village as they go, situated at the base of the Vasten Mountains, it's so given its name because of the ghostly mist that permeates around and through the Village during early mornings and late nights. The people are monastic almost and fiercely loyal to the Queen of Kelbarden, they opposed the vile Sand King (Antaeus) with all their hearts and rejoiced upon this demise. Geist is situated around thirty or so miles from Greymyre hill and off to the south range a little...It provides a good deal of the Cities stone and wood, once more bordering the forests that caress the mountains so closely.
East Point City
Situated upon the Eastern part of Kelbarden at the South Eastern tip of the Vasten Forest, this is a medium sized City of trade and commerce, it is one of the few Cities that produces and sells Windships to those who have the money to buy such. It is also the seat of the famous Mayor Vross, who was once heard complaining about the Queen's taxes to the former advisor to the Queen, Valarian, who educated the man most swiftly in the proper way to address a Monarch. After a few months of intensive treatment at the Healer's Guild, Vross was discharged with a clean bill of health - rumour has it that when he heard about Valarian's death many, many years ago, he had a heart attack and almost followed him.
Nightfall City
Directly to the West of the Nightfall Mountains is the City that takes its name from the very range. Nightfall was an Eldrin who spent most of her time exploring the mighty shard, she met her fall in the Mountains when she challenged Shakarovar during his reign of terror, and the City and the Mountains were named in her honour. Nightfall is a large City and is almost the size of Ruatha, currently in charge of it is the Royal Appointed: Baron Harfall. Nightfall's relationship with the Queen and her people is good and often Nennuir maintains a small Palace there as well, Nightfall is known for producing weapons made from the nearby iron ore deposits in both the Nightfalls and the Halvars.
Kemman Halvar
The old word for Village in the tongue of those humans of Ashirion, is Kemman, Kemman Dell most notably was the first such place. Kemman Halvar was once: Kemman Ertul however the medium sized Mining Village was always picked apart by the voracious Wolvren that roam the nearby area, hunting around the forests and the mountains. Now the Village is called Kemman Halvar in honour of a defender who went axe to claw with over thirty of them, finally defeating their leader Bloodsong in a duel to decide the fate of many lives. Halvar lost his own not long after the battle for his wounds were too great - the grateful Villagers named their settlement and the mountains where he was buried - after him.
Trey Village
A little way to the North of Halvar, well, a good few miles to the North of Halvar Village lies a tiny Village called: Trey. The people there are honest farmer and they enjoy a prosperous life under the protection of Nennuir and her folk. Their Village lies just East of the Ru'an River so they also tend to make a living from fishing as well. They are prime exporters of farm tools and many of them brew a number of regional drinks that can be found all over Ashirion.
West Point City
West Point (On the South West shore of Kelbarden) has been the most affected by the sudden upheaval of the Broken Sphere, for a start it's now finding itself as part of the Shakari Lands and under the protection of both Nennuir and Eydan (Ronin), not to mention Eydan's kin. It's another large City and has no imports or exports to mention, it's a little bit redundant in many cases but the majority of the people are nice folk there - they respect the Queen and now they will be forced to take the Shakari's offered help as well. This has come at a good time, since Gelv (Executed on Nennuir's orders) brother to Lyssin (Previous Ruler) murdered her in an attempt to seize control of West Point - now there is a Shakari ruler in place at West Point, his emissary - Tarn, has already been sent to Ruatha.
Port Rhayle
A Port City (West Peninsula of Kelbarden) to be sure, Port Rhayle is a lively place and comes highly recommended by a certain elvish Skycaptain. Rhayle is a corsair's port and dodgy dealings do go on, but most of them concern how best to upset Sudelar and its allies - so the Queen often turns a blind eye. It has been said that Nennuir met Talon there when he spent some time in Kelbarden, of course, Rhayle's new neighbour - The Shakari will make sure that nothing too bad happens there, and woe betide anyone who dares to engage in slavery. Port Rhayle supports the Queen and her people, they often run supplies via Windship to Ruatha in times of trouble, but no one there is what they seem and least of all the infamous Tavern Keeper - Jeramiah Cove, who some have said is the true ruler of the Port.
Moonarrow Village
When the Great Sundering happened and the world turned to smoke, fire and ash a number of people fled to the safe Shard of Wolfhome. They established a Village known as Moonarrow, the Village was always shrouded in eternal night and lit by an ever-full moon they said this was the work of the Great Wolf, but no one has come forwards to confirm or deny it. Moonarrow has grown since then, being a place of refugees and wanderers - yet it always remains an open place, as it is protected and very close to Moonsinger Castle, to the South of the Wolfhome Mountains. When the Shakari returned full force and their lands once more were conjoined to the rest of Kelbarden, Moonarrow's eternal night vanished and it became a brighter, even more prosperous place.
Moonsinger Castle
This grand castle stands atop of the Wolfhome Mountains and is the home of the Shakari, their Great Council and the seat of power of the White King. There is little known to outsiders about this Castle but those who have seen it describe it as if it were drawn from a very dream, a vision of white marble and sterling silver curves and lines.
