Fae

From the Kingdom of the Shining Hall to the Barrow of the Secret Soul these beings are one of the oldest races on the Sphere next to the Shakari. Timeless and beautiful they have many nicknames and a fair few legends of their kind and the oldest of them have been granted the right to enter the circle of cycles. These became the Ashirion themselves and are detailed in the appropriate news file on gods (news gods).

What of the Fae, the Sidthe, the Unwaking, the Unblinking, the Agless, Timeless? They have many names and often are as reclusive as they are immortal. Split into two distinct types, the Seelie and the Unseelie they are the blood of elves, or to be more correct all the elves are of their blood. When the world began to become too much of a banal place for them, when things began to turn towards conflict and war they left the Sphere for their dimensions, the Shining Hall and the Barrow of the Secret Soul, Seelie and Unseelie respectively...And there they stayed, a few venture into the Mortal's realms by way of the passages between these worlds but once they arrive here they can never go back to their home. They remain timeless and ageless but they in some ways lose their magical essence, having to rely on either Rhy'a'don or the Ashirion for their powers.

Only a few things remain about them that could be described as core traits.

They are all unearthly in looks and mannerisms, they often seem alien and aloof from anything, in truth they don't often even give Mortal's the time of day. Soon learning that when on this side of the Mirror they must adapt to a new life, their attitudes often change and they do find themselves embroiled in the wars and conflicts of the lesser and greater races, becoming enmeshed in the affairs of others...try as they might, the world wins in the end.

The Fae are tall usually around seven feet in height and regal looking, with sharp angular features, much more so than elves. Their ears are longer than the elves and their whole being screams ethereal and beautiful. When they move it is always with grace and poise, there is no such thing as a clumsy Fae, they do not ever drop anything, knock anything over or break anything by accident. Nor do they fumble in combat, they cannot be made to look foolish in this way. When they pass in inclement weather, they leave no marks on the ground, the rain doesn't touch them and the snow does not impede them, they can walk over heavy mud and snow as though it were the softest feather blanket or quilt. A high wind will not stop them and a tornado wouldn't even cause their hair to ruffle.

They wear lots of fine clothes, silks, satins, velvets and other such materials, nothing on them is sub standard. They have many different types of hair colours and eye colours, styles and fashions between both the Seelie and the Unseelie that I've decided to do as I did with elves and list both as seperate sub-races or cultures even. This is just a core look at certain traits between both of them. They do make weapons and armour and have been known as some of the finest smiths in the Sphere due to their ability with Magic, for indeed they make incredible mages and fantastic priests.

Player Character Fae ages will be in the 700-800's at tops 1000 and you'd better be able to RP that well, as with any of my concepts if I see it abused and misdirected I'll simply offer you advice on where you're going wrong with it. I don't want an outbreak of 14 yr olds thinking that it's cool to be older than everyone else on the MU* often all we get are resentful characters/players. It takes more than a few lines to RP a Fae properly to my specifications.
