Ashirion: The Broken Sphere
Ashirion was once a fertile whole world that sparkled like a gem in the blackness of the cosmos, but through the actions of a renegade the world was sundered into shards of matter, it became a Broken Sphere. It is held together now by a network of magical gateways that bind the shards tenuously to the core of the planet. The Waystones thought to be created by a great mage as a means to travel vast distances in the blink of an eye became the people's only salvation.
Ashirion is a place of dark fantasy where the evils left behind as an old god's jealousy grew and grew continue to work the plans of their ancient master. Yet there is one beacon of hope in all the shadow, the city of Ruatha ruled by the capricious but fair Queen Nennuir. While dark shapes from Ashirion's past gnaw at the souls and minds of those that live upon the many shards Nennuir attempts to keep her people and the largest shard of Kelbarden safe from the horrors outside of it.
She is not alone in her task as the mysterious Shakari stand to her right hand and aid from their kingdom of Wolfhome far to the east of Nennuir's port city. But there are others that plot against the Queen and her people knowing full well that Kelbarden is a land rich in minerals and wealth, they draw their own plans across polished oak tables from the lofty heights of Nightfall's towers to the depths of the planes of shadow.
Ashirion is world of opportunity where fantasy and science thrive hand in hand, the wonders of the secretive Iltyr with their mastery of Technomancy and other skills can often be seen grazing the skies as windships wend their way through giant skygates leading to distant lands.
Where the skill of a sharp tongue is often better than that of a sharp sword.
