Some reminders about Ashirion.
Ashirion is s very detailed world, which is why unlike a lot of other games/Mushes/Muxes/MUCKS and the like...it has a specific set of languages, theme elments and other things.
Please do not invent new languages, settings...villages, Cities and the like for Ashirion - if you want to come from somewhere in/on the world that's not listed on the news files. Then I'm happy to discuss it and to tell you the details on it.
We don't allow and 'real world' languages or elements on Ashirion. There are no pounds, shillings, dollars or dimes. There's gold and that's about it, we decided against a detailed economy system due to a small player base and a need for some truly detailed code which would be a waste of my coder's time at this present juncture.
The same goes for new races and anything else that you might think it pretty cool to invent. As a general rule of thumb, don't invent anything unless you've spoken in detail to myself and gotten it cleared. I have worked for just over 25 years offline and 8 online on this world/game respectively...I don't like seeing additions that can violate my 'copyright'
Remember that Ashirion is an original themed game and as such you should always endeavour to read the news files thoroughly, ask questions of the admin and myself and enjoy the rich and diverse environment that I have provided.
A few things you should know. (Since most people don't read the policy)
1) Private Areas:
The Ashirion Admin and GM's, in accordance with "news policy3", have every right to enter a private or semi-private area if there is a current Plot or Tiny-Plot happening that affects your area. In fact, nowhere is private at all - they may bring a number of players with them. You should deal with it ICly - if you complain OOCly about it you'll lose respect from me and opportunities to participate plots in the future.
2) Private Rooms and TS (Tiny-Sex):
The same applies if you're busy having sexual role-play in a room and the GM's interrupt along with attendant Players (not players on their own, unless they're a Special NPC type - you may ask them to +prove this). It happens for real, and you should be prepared to deal with it. Don't go complaining about it to players/admin - you'll be invited off the game.
Often if two people are in a private/semi-private location, they're "boinking" like bunnies, to the exclusion of participation with other players. There's no place for that behavior here here. If you want to create characters only for TS, go to a MUCK called Furry or TAPS - get off my game.
I don't mind TS in character and in moderation, but what I object to are two characters whose first actions on my world are to ignore the players and go off to a private room to "role-play" together. Don't tell me you're just talking OOC - +set ooc and get off my grid. You're here to role-play and play with others. If you don't like this, you're invited to quit.
3) New Players and Crowds:
You are here to play with others. To hear that a player panics when they get into a large group to role-play is absurdly laughable. This is VR, get a grip. You're only in as much danger in a group as you let yourself get into. Scared of doing something wrong? Check out #4 in the list.
4) Playing With Others:
Here we do things a little differently - we're not run of a mill kind of game, nor are we run of the mill kind of admin. We don't sit in ivory towers, we try and make things fun for everyone. We expect you to behave in character when you're +set IC, which means reacting appropriately if a group involved in a plot enters the room you're in.
This brings me onto this next point, typing quit without notification in a scene.
Example: Players enter into a location with a GM, one player already in that location claims to be new, or busy, etc., then quits without notification. That kind of behavior is generally not appreciated. If you type quit without a good reason too often and you'll have your role-play approval revoked. To any player who's offended by this, I do apologise, but this has become too much of a problem to ignore.
5) Emits:
The GM's here use emits to assist in plot development and role-play, and as a tool to get more players involve din a plot. Random emits do not happen in 'private' or 'semi-private' locations at all. The only random emits are the weather and tide code etc. If you see an emit with "**" before and after it, it would be a good idea to react to it. Reactions are rewarded - ignorance is not. Please bear in mind that things do happen around here for a reason.
Try and have fun, but if you want to just come onto the game to TS, as I said before, this isn't the game for you. Leave now and avoid the trouble and embarrassment of being @nuked @toaded and @reviled.
To those players who do keep with the spirit of the game, and those who intend to play properly and are what we'd deem good role-players, those with potential to become something more than shag-machines, we salute you, and you have my deepest regards and respect.
