Idle Purges

A notice for new players in particular, although other players may find it clarifies a few matters.

First and foremost Ashirion is a role-playing mux, it is not a chat room, and as it is such we expect you to create and role-play characters here. One of your alts at any one time may be OOC in the OOC area for chat purposes/ monitor channels etc.

It is my standard policy, seeing as I am the Wizard responsible for idlepurges etc to nuke characters that have been on Ashirion for seven days and have made no attempt to develop their character or to contact the Admin regarding their character. A week IMHO is a reasonable enough time to have at least spoken to an Admin regarding chargen. An Admin btw is someone who is listed on +staff and it is these people who tell me exactly who has bothered to contact them regarding character development.

A character who logs in then doesnt bother to connect to develop their character at all will be nuked after a seven day period, this is to conserve DB space and to permit names etc to be recycled.

A character who has developed their persona but reaches a time period of 20 days without completing chargen will also be nuked to conserve DB space etc. If the player @mails myself requesting more time, it will be given.

Please note: For all of the above I will NOT give an @mailed warning, it is the players responsibility to ensure that they adher to the rules of the mux, not my responsibility to chase around asking questions. You don't enquire to staff, then unless you give a very good reason otherwise, it is assumed you will not be roleplaying on Ashirion...a roleplay mux.

Characters who reach 40 days idle will receive a seven day warning that will be placed on BB1. If I do not receive a message, a request they be set vacation or the character is not logged in, then once again it will be nuked to conserve DB space etc etc. Please take note, I monitor those players who just log in to conserve their alt every 40 days or so. If you cannot play for a long period of time, @mail me and I will set you Vacation. Otherwise if I observe this behaviour continuing for a time period of more than 3 months, an @mailed warning will be given and if it happens again and no communication or explaination is given to myself then the character will be purged.

This post has been written in response to incidents that have happened recently. I hope it explains the standard procedures I follow, unless I am contacted otherwise. The fact I am idle or dark is no excuse. I check my mail at least once a day.
